Meet your photographers

We're Chloe and Joe

Husband and wife and the couple behind The Lucks Photography.

We met at school and have grown up alongside one another ever since. We've built careers, travelled, got married ourselves and, more recently, have become parents.

We bring all of that life experience to the way we photograph weddings. Our approach reflects the trust and teamwork built over more than half a lifetime together.

More than photography

A bit about us beyond the cameras.

Our story together started long before The Lucks Photography. We met at school, became a couple at 16, and have grown through most of adult life alongside one another.

We live together in Kent with our daughter and toy poodle. We're massive foodies who love to travel and scuba dive and have explored the world together, cameras in hand, documenting every adventure.

Our creative backgrounds inspire our wedding photography. Chloe's background in fashion design and photography brings a strong eye for detail and composition. Joe's in web design and engineering brings technical depth to our work.

Our approach is shaped by the life we have built away from our cameras. We know what it's like to build a relationship, get married and create a family of our own. Every couple has their own story, and that's why wedding photography means so much to us.

How we complement each other.

Chloe focuses on capturing the most anticipated parts of the day: the bridal entrance, first kiss and couples portraits as well as all the little details and personal touches you've spent months planning.

Joe is drawn to the candid moments people don't see coming. The split second before everyone erupts in laughter, the glance across the room during speeches, the quiet tears during the vows. The moments that help you relive all the emotion of the day.

Our strengths complement each other because every wedding has a mix of both planned and spontaneous moments. Between us, we can capture the main moments, the unexpected ones and everything happening in between.

Why two photographers?

There are many reasons to have two photographers at a wedding. We can be in two places at once, be with each of you during bride and groom prep, capture the ceremony from different perspectives and cover the couples portraits and group photos without missing the candid moments unfolding elsewhere.

Photographing weddings as a couple feels very natural to us. We know each other extremely well, we trust one another completely and, after all these years, work together perfectly. We know where each other will be, what they are covering and how to position ourselves so our angles work together.

Planning our own wedding reminded us what matters most from your side of the camera. You want to feel comfortable throughout while trusting that your photographers are capturing how your day felt, not just how it looked. That's the approach we bring to every wedding we photograph.

Having two of us means we can pay more attention to the guests, moments, emotions and unique details that make your wedding day yours. You get two complementary perspectives documenting your entire wedding day.

Chloe and Joe were great, we were really happy with the end result in the variety and quality of photos and they made us feel at ease, relaxed and comfortable in their presence.

The next step

Feel good about the photographers you choose

You'll spend a significant part of the wedding day with us somewhere nearby.

You should love our work, of course, but you should also feel comfortable around us, trust our judgement and know that we'll treat the day with the respect it deserves.

We build a strong connection with all of our couples and the best way to find out whether we're a good fit is to have a conversation.
